"Islamophobia & exclusion affect not only people's mental health, but taint their feeling of belonging to a society."

“On my own history of racism and Islamophobia, I especially like to talk about the stories that touch me. I don't really like going into what I directly experienced, but I like to be inspired by how people around me, I think in particular of my sister, who is a Muslim woman who wore the hijab, how exclusion and Islamophobia and racism, and this hatred that is swarming in many societies, how it affects not only the mental health of people, but especially also how it taints the feeling of belonging to a society.” – Says Montreal’s Anti-Racism Commissioner Bochra Manai

About the Hate2Healing Campaign
Recognizing the strength of storytelling, CCMW launches a unique Hate2Healing anti-hate social media campaign to mark October’s Islamic Heritage Month. The campaign comprises 15 videos from diverse Muslim women, girls and non-binary people coming together to speak about their lived experiences of hate, racism and Islamophobia. The campaign aims to start the healing and recovery process for many survivors of hate by encouraging them to share their stories and start talking about their experiences both online and offline.
